FFF 22 Friday 23 Dec ’22 Christmas edition
We all tend to get very busy as we approach Christmas. Plenty of visits to family and friends, and plenty of shopping to do.
So rather than lots of reading about the history of Newport, this photo reminded me of Christmas at first glance. Actually, it is the reflection of lights on the front canopies of Beaufort bombers in production in East Block during the war. (I hope canopies is the correct description!) Very little has been published about the wartime production at Newport.
I was told recently that there was a hard-cover book of about 120 pages with many never seen before photographs published about the war production at Newport. Has anyone out there got a copy or know of a library which has it? Who was the author? Please get in contact via this page or our website <nrwpg.com.au>.
